Rock Creek Fair
Young Stars Hockey Tournament
We were very lucky to have the Canucks young stars tournament in Penticton again this year. It is a tournament where the draft picks of the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets and San Jose Sharks play each other and the who's who of hockey comes to watch the up and coming talent. We had a wonderful week of watching some great hockey, keeping the kids up way to late & cheering on the Flames!!!

Back to School
September... the month that brings on change... the temperatures start dropping (after a couple weeks of fantastic 30 degree weather), the leaves become more colorful, the hockey equipment gets pulled out (and replaced after seeing how much the kids grew over summer) and the kids start a new chapter of school. Katie started preschool and was so excited about going to "Teacher Mandy's". Here is Devun driving her to her first day of school. As you can tell by her choice to wear pearls, it was a very special day :)

A few days later Devun started Kindergarten. This year is BC's first year of full-day, 5 day a week kindergarten in all the schools. In order to get ready for the change, the kids met the teacher for a one-on-one time, and then went for a half day with half the class before jumping into a class with all 22 kids for full days. Here is Devun and his friend Ethan at their first 1/2 day of kindergarten:

Happy Birthday Nate!!!!
Yesterday we had a fun-filled day with lots of activities to celebrate Nate's birthday. First we started off with a fantastic breakfast at Two Eagles followed by hitting some balls at the driving range.

Then we went to the hospice for lunch and cake with Great Grandma:
The kids had a blast making their cousin Callie giggle:
Then the kids and I took Nate kayaking:

Dinner followed with a walk by the waterfront. It was a gorgeous evening and we all had a wonderful time!!! Thanks for being such a wonderful husband & father, we love you Nate!!!

Last week we spent a wonderful day at our friend's cottage while we waited for Nate's plane to arrive and for him to FINALLY come home from Alberta. We had the most amazing time just hanging out and enjoying summer.
We played croquet:
